Welcome

Have fun and enjoy the music. This effort is made purely out of love for the music, and as jazz lends itself to discussion so nicely don't forget to drop a line; don't be afraid of the keyboard, it won't bite you. Your thoughts, suggestions & contributions are welcome.

  8. Dear Delta,

How about a post dedicated to Humphrey Lyttelton, jazz trumpeter, old Etonian and ex-Guards Officer?

  9. Dear Vapsomallias,

You are absolutely right, the great late Humph was a towering figure of the English media with a charming personalty to boot. If you care to check here, I think you will find the contents most satisfactory.

  13. Hi d3lta, congratulations, both the music and the videos are terrific!, so thanks a lot.
By the way, while I had no problem whatsoever in downloading a couple of music files with Rapidshare, I was wondering if there was a way of downloading some of the videos you uploaded on Dailymotion. I tried with Orbit, which seems exactly the correct program, but although it says "video downloaded", when I try to 'open' it on my pc, nothing happens!
    Any tips??!!
    Trane

  14. Hi trane, although I've never tried downloading from dailymotion, I guess that these should be flash video files, so you need to rename them with the extention *.flv and use appropriate software to decode them like vlc media player or flv player (both freeware), hope that solves it.

  15. Yes, thanks, in fact I just had to use the right program - orbit didnt work. Now everything is fine
    Cheers

  16. Ah yes, Lou Donaldson. Being a trumpet player myself, I became aware of Mr. Donaldson through his work with Art Blakey, which of course included the immortal Clifford Brown (my absolute jazz idol).

Great blog.I wondered about if you have checked Eddie Lang and Lonnie Johnson (great stuff have on LP) to see if there were any bad files uploaded. Also I can't find a tutorial on Cuecards 2000.None on Google search and Youtube. Can you direct a computer idiot where to find a way to use (can find iso but not CC2000).Also wondering why you use it and not just burn to flac and upload with meta allready there.I use FreeripMp3 and can make FLAC and upload easily. Why use Iso????
    Thanks
    Chazz

    ReplyDelete
  32. @Chazz, Messrs Lang & Johnson are in place, just checked. And what do you mean by cuecards 2000? All recent flac uploads have embedded cues, the extra cues are included for convenience, one can do a lot of things with them using the necessary software, cues are the lingua franca of lossless uploads.
